ASPIRE

After School Program

Vision: We envision a world where every child in underserved communities has unfettered access to quality education and holistic support. Our commitment is to nurture and empower these children intellectually, emotionally, and socially, unlocking their boundless potential and fostering a generation of resilient, confident, and compassionate individuals.

Mission: ASPIRE aims to provide free after school tutoring and homework help for youth in underserved communities and enhance the lives of these students in the process.

ASPIRE (Achieving Students Progress, Instilling Resilience, and Excellence) is an after-school program (Math, English Language Arts, and Enrichment) that provides supplementary language intervention and helps improve academic performance for children from elementary school. The students come from underserved, refugee, and immigrant communities. The tutorials are offered at various schools and community centers where after school programs are run.

Sewa runs ASPIRE programs in New Jersey, Bay Area California, Atlanta, and Houston. In New Jersey, 141 students have been served till now; in the Bay Area over 180 students have participated through a partnership with two schools in Newark districts; and in Houston, over 100 refugee and immigrant students have taken advantage of these tutorials in centers housed at three apartment complexes.

Furthermore, ASPIRE assists with summer programs helping kids with enrichment programs, with digital literacy offering training in computer labs.

We are excited to share with you that we have recently received grant funding from AmeriCorps for ASPIRE Program.
