Overview

New Jersey : Central Jersey Sewa Chapter launched during #sewadiwali initiative taken up in the areas of Edison, Monroe and ChesterField. All volunteers who participated in SewaDiwali initiative and wanted to continue to serve the local community came together and started Central Jersey Chapter with centers in Edison, Monroe and Chesterfield.

    Sewa International Central Jersey – Summer Volunteering Program 2025

    Mandatory Guidelines & Participation Requirements

    We are excited to announce the upcoming Summer Volunteering Program 2025, specially designed for high school students and youth aged 13 and above. To ensure a meaningful and community-driven experience, all participants and their families are required to adhere to the following mandatory guidelines:

    1. Eligibility:

      Open to high school students or youth aged 13 years and above.


    2. Minimum Student Commitment:

      Each participant must complete a minimum of 50 volunteer hours between June 1, 2025 and August 31, 2025.


    3. Mandatory Parent Involvement:

      At least one parent/guardian is required to contribute a minimum of 10 volunteer hours in support of program activities.


    4. Certification:

      Participants will receive a volunteer certificate from Sewa International Central Jersey Chapter.

      Please note: This program does not offer PVSA certificates for summer volunteers.


    5. Registration Fee:

      non-refundable registration fee of $75 is required upon enrollment.


    6. Mandatory Activity:

      Participation in at least one Highway Cleanup event is required for each student volunteer.


    7. Nature of Volunteering Work:

      Volunteer work will primarily be outdoor-based, including gardening, park/farm cleanups, and community event support.

      Activities will take place across Edison, Monroe, Somerset, Brunswick, and surrounding areas in Central New Jersey.
