In June 2026, Sewa ASPIRE partnered with Think Together and Newark Unified School District (NUSD) to provide an engaging and enriching summer learning experience for nearly 200 students at Schilling Elementary. Led by a dedicated team of 50+ volunteers — including high school student leaders - elementary students participated in a variety of interactive activities designed to spark curiosity, strengthen academic skills, and build confidence.

From Abacus and Environmental Science to Artificial Intelligence and Reading, students strengthened their academic skills while diving into subjects that made learning fun. Creative Writing, Art, Music, and Band Performance gave students space to express themselves, while Speech & Debate helped build confidence and communication skills.

The program also nurtured the whole child, with sessions on Mental Wellness and Nutrition supporting healthy habits, and Community-focused activities fostering connection and belonging among students and volunteers alike.

Thanks to the passion and dedication of our volunteers, this summer was more than just a program — it was a community coming together to help students grow, explore, and thrive.
