Food & Grocery Donation Drive - January 2024

Sewa International, San Diego thanks all of you for volunteering at the Food and Grocery donation drive on 01/03/2024 at San Ysidro, CA in collaboration with Hearts and Hands Working Together. The event was a great success and together we donated over 4200 lbs of Produce to the Hispanic community. Sewa International, San Diego coordinated the event and Volunteers from Sewa, HSS & Ekal San Diego also participated in the event. The spirit and enthusiasm displayed by everyone inspite of heavy rain was exemplary. Special thanks to all the Sewa LEAD Program Students who helped package all the food over several days. Event was also attended by Antonio Martinez and Irene Lopez of the San Ysidro School Board who were in profound appreciation of the Community Service work done by Sewa International, San Diego Chapter.

Sewa San Diego Community Clean Up Event - Forester Creek / River Cleanup - March 16, 2024

Community Clean Up Event at Forester Creek/River. With 12 enthusiastic volunteers from Sewa San Diego and the participation of other organizations, the event was a true testament to community spirit. Organized by the diligent efforts of the San Diego River Park Foundation, the cleanup initiative aimed to restore the natural beauty of the creek and river. Together, we worked tirelessly to remove debris and enhance the environment. The collective dedication of volunteers and the support from the foundation made the event a resounding success. Sewa San Diego extends heartfelt thanks to all participants for their unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. This event underscored the power of community collaboration in creating a cleaner and healthier environment for all.

Feeding San Diego - April 2024

In April Sewa International volunteers teamed up with Feeding San Diego for a meaningful community service event. Together, we gleaned, rescued, sorted, and packaged over 3,500 pounds of potatoes, oranges, and apples. These efforts will help provide nutritious food to homeless and underserved communities. It was a day of hard work and collaboration, reflecting our shared commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
