Peter Barnes III Preserve Habitat Restoration

Central Jersey Sewa LEAD volunteers participated in a winter habitat restoration activity at the Peter J. Barnes III Wildlife Preserve. The volunteers worked together to help restore and protect the local ecosystem by removing invasive plant species that threaten native vegetation.

During the event, LEADs cleared English ivy from native trees, removed Japanese honeysuckle from bushes, and cut overgrown vegetation to improve the health of the forested area. Equipped with tools such as bow saws, shears, loppers, and hatchets, the volunteers worked with dedication and enthusiasm to support the environment and enhance the natural habitat.
