Nepal Flash Flood Relief Stand with Nepal in its Hour of Need |
From Relief to Recovery — Helping Nepal Rebuild with Dignity Sewa International USA’s emergency response is now moving into a critical new phase: long-term recovery and rehabilitation. For families who have lost homes, livelihoods, access to education and a sense of security, recovery will take more than immediate relief—it will take sustained partnership. Sewa is preparing a multi-sector rehabilitation program focused on rebuilding lives and creating pathways toward self-reliance. Planned initiatives include student kits, school uniforms and scholarships for 10,000 affected students and 200 children, hostel facilities supporting vulnerable children, temporary school recovery support, and family recovery assistance for 500 affected families. Restoring Dignity. Rebuilding Futures. For children who have lost parents, caregivers or homes, Sewa plans to create safe residential spaces that provide care, education and protection. Support for old-age homes will help vulnerable elderly survivors rebuild their lives with dignity and security. Mental health support clinics will provide compassionate care to help survivors heal from the emotional impact of the disaster. The next phase also includes 10 Skill Development Centres across affected areas, with training in vocational trades, tailoring, electrical/plumbing, digital skills and entrepreneurship. Agriculture and livestock recovery will help families regain their livelihoods through seeds, tools, livestock, poultry/goats, veterinary support, irrigation and farmer training. For corporate and major donors, this is an opportunity to create measurable, lasting social impact—helping children return to learning, families regain livelihoods, and communities rebuild stronger. The floodwaters may recede, but the journey to recovery continues. Partner with Sewa to help Nepal rebuild, recover and rise again.
