The Indianapolis chapter of Sewa International USA, a Hindu faith-based, humanitarian service organization, arranged its 1st "Farmers to Families Food Box" distribution drive at the HTCI Hindu Mandir on Saturday, March 13th. Over 45000 lbs. of USDA fresh produce and dairy products from a refrigerated semi-truck in 1300 boxes were distributed to the needy families and communities on the eastern part of Indianapolis. Over 75 volunteers from both the organizations participated in this effort from morning 8AM to 2 PM to ensure timely distribution of the refrigerated food.
