Sewa Detroit Milan Sewa brings together the Community In the Spirit of Selfless Service |
“Sewa MILAN” represents the meaning of community and how gathering builds people together in the spirit and act of selfless service. On February 8th, 2026, our very own hard-working Leads and their families donated their time and effort by volunteering in their local community to receive the well-known Sewa Volunteer Service Award for their prestigious time and dedication at Sewa International. Us Leads were also pleased to meet and greet Mr. Roger Natarajan, a program director and professor from UofM, to discuss and lead kids onto their future paths. Many students and former Lead members were also invited and included to perform, host events, and extend invitations to chief guests, including Farmington Hills’ own Mayor Theresa Rich and Shailee Patel, making the day a meaningful celebration of service, leadership, and community spirit! |

| This day was truly a celebration of togetherness and inspiration, where students, families, and community leaders came together to honor selfless service and leadership. From volunteering efforts to performances and mentorship sessions, every moment highlighted the power of community, collaboration, and the value of giving back. Sewa MILAN not only recognized the dedication of our Lead Students, but also sparked motivation among younger students to follow in their footsteps and make a positive impact in their own neighborhoods. The event ended with smiles, gratitude, and a shared sense of pride in what can be achieved when people unite for a greater cause. |
