Serve Bay Area - GreenFriends Farm [February 2025]

Sewa International has partnered with GreenFriends Farm for this event. Volunteers will contribute to both indoor and outdoor activities at GreenFriends Farm. You will be helping with one of the following activities:

• Planting Drought-Tolerant Trees and Shrubs

• Mulching

• Tree Guard Installation

In addition to the nature projects, the following volunteer opportunities are also available:

• Knitting for the Homeless: Join our "hats for the homeless" project by knitting hats. Please bring size 13 needles and Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn, any color.

• Sorting Library Books: Assist in sorting, categorizing, and organizing books to ensure they’re in the correct sections and ready for readers.

Date and Time: Saturday, February 22nd, 2024, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Location: 10200 Crow Canyon Rd, Castro Valley, CA 94552

Additional Details:

1. All volunteers are welcome, regardless of experience level. GreenFriends volunteers will provide training and guidance for all tasks.
2. Please dress comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes for outdoor activities.
3. Refillable water bottle.
4. Gardening gloves (if you have them)
5. If participating in Knitting project then please bring size 13 needles and Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn, any color.
6. All skill levels are welcome! We will provide all necessary tools and guidance.
   
7. Snacks, refreshments and vegetarian lunch will be provided.
