Serve Bay Area - GreenFriends Farm [March 2025]

Sewa International has partnered with GreenFriends Farm for this event. Volunteers will contribute to both indoor and outdoor activities at GreenFriends Farm. You will be helping with one of the following activities:

• Orchard Care (Mulching & Harvesting): Mulching: Covering dry soil with mulches around the Granny Smith apple trees at the base of the Lotus orchard. Harvesting: Picking late-season Mandarin oranges and Golden Nuggets from the Lotus orchard.

• Knitting for the Homeless: Join our "hats for the homeless" project by knitting hats. Please bring size 13 needles (long) and one 5 oz. skein of Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn, any color. Knitting looms is provided.

• AmmaShop Inventory: Assisting with inventory management and organization at the AmmaShop.

• Temple Care (Brass Lamp Polishing): Cleaning and polishing brass lamps within the temple.
• Earth Day Preparation (Chair Cleaning): Cleaning and organizing chairs for earth day program.

Additional Details:

1. All volunteers are welcome, regardless of experience level. GreenFriends volunteers will provide training and guidance for all tasks.
2. Please dress comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes for outdoor activities.
3. Refillable water bottle.
4. Gardening gloves (if you have them)
5. If participating in Knitting project then please bring size 13 needles (long) and one 5 oz. skien of Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn, any color. Knitting looms will be provided.
6. All skill levels are welcome! We will provide all necessary tools and guidance.
   
7. Snacks, refreshments and vegetarian lunch will be provided.
8. Holi Celebration: 3:30 PM (following Seva)
