Gitesh Desai (President) ![]() Gitesh Desai (President) Gitesh Desai is the president at Sewa International Houston since April 2017 and an official Spokesperson of Sewa International USA. He has been a long-time Houstonian and a community activist. Community service is his passion in life. In 2019, he was awarded Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, the highest honor for a person of Indian origin, by the President of India. Houston mayor Sylvester Turner declared March 29, 2019, as “Gitesh Desai Day” in the City of Houston, TX. He is a recipient of many other awards. He also serves as the president of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda Alumni Foundation, Inc. He is a former president of the Indian American Political Action Committee of Greater Houston (IAPAC) and is currently serving on the IAPAC board. He also served on the Indo-American Charity Foundation of Greater Houston (IACF) board. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer working as a Senior Consultant in the Oil and Gas industry. He is a published freelance writer. | Achalesh Amar M.Tech (Executive Member) ![]() Achalesh Amar M.Tech (Chapter Coordinator) Achalesh Amar is a social and community service activist and has been associated with Sewa since 2012. A software QA Engineer by vocation, he likes connecting with people across the continents and rendering Sewa. He lives in Pearland, TX with his wife and two daughters. | Nikhil Jain M.B.A (Chapter Coordinator) ![]() Nikhil Jain M.B.A (Chapter Jt-Coordinator) Nikhil has been associated with serving the Houston community for past 15+ years. He has organized complex community service projects and events. He is a staunch supporter of nonviolence and diversity. He lives in Katy, TX with Ritu and 2 teenage daughters. |

She lives in Katy, Texas with her husband Ashish and two children, Kaushiki and Aatreya. A humanitarian by heart she is passionate about education and youth development issues. | Anita Ravat M.S (Executive Member) ![]() Anita Ravat M.S (Executive Member) Anita Ravat started her association with SEWA in 2014 assisting her daughter setup the New Horizons Literacy program for the Bhutanese Refugees. Since the fall of 2015 she has been part of the fundraising team for the Houston Chapter. She works as a Business Analyst at Chevron. Anita lives in Houston with her husband. Narendra Zamwar (Executive Member) ![]() Narendra Zamwar Narendra Zamwar, M Tech, CMA, is associated with SEWA mainly for family services initiative. He is also very active with MMNA (Maheshwari)group. He lives in Katy, TX with his wife Sunita and two kids. He is Engineer and Cost accountant by profession. | Madan Luthra (Executive Member) ![]() Madan Luthra Madan Luthra is retired Research Scientist of university of Texas M D Anderson Cancer Center (UTMDACC) and a previous faculty of Baylor College of Medicine. He has been associated with Sewa International for four plus years as a part of Family Services Group. He has a passion to serve community at large. He and his wife Rajyalakshmi , longtime faculty at UTMDACC have been living in Missouri City in Houston area, since 1980. Sharda Gadiya (Executive Member) ![]() Sharda Gadiya Sharda Gadiya is passionate about serving the Houston community and has been associated with Sewa since 2013. She also spends her time volunteering for organizations such as Jain Center of Houston, Preksha Meditation Center, Houston Food Bank, Dada Bhagwan, and Gaudiya Math Mandir. Sharda has been working for the Cy-Fair school district for over 20 years and lives with her husband in Cypress, TX. She has done Bachelor of Science. She can always be seen smiling and ready to work with patience and confidence. | Rashmi Singh (Executive Member) ![]() Rashmi Singh Rashmi Singh is a Chemical Engineer with corporate experience in Marketing , Logistics and Distribution. Rashmi has been associated with Sewa since 2017. She is a people person with passion to serve the community and strong supporter of Sewa’s tag line “Together We Serve Better”. Rashmi and her husband Amarnath live in Pearland TX, and they have a son and a daughter. |
