In response to the devastating flash floods that have swept through the Texas Hill Country, claiming Fatalities confirmed at 121 across Central Texas, with 96 in Kerr County alone, including significant losses at Camp Mystic (27 campers and counsellors), including children, and the figures of Missing persons are About 160–170 individuals remain unaccounted for. As of now there are no active rescue operations, efforts are now focused on recovery. There are 1000s houses damaged and a lot of help is needed immediately.
Sewa International has activated its disaster response teams in full force. Volunteers from the San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Dallas chapters are already on-site, delivering critical aid to families affected by this unprecedented disaster and are sending 100s of volunteers every week.
In addition to volunteer mobilization, Sewa International has launched an emergency fundraising campaign to assist displaced families with immediate needs, including food, water, hygiene supplies, and medical aid. Funds will also support ongoing recovery and rebuilding efforts in the weeks and months to come.
