My dear family & friends,

For the past few years I have held this campaign, and it has been a great success! Thank you to all the donors from the past few years - the students you have supported are on their way to becoming doctors, teachers, CPA’s, and business women!

With the additional challenges this year has brought, it is even more important to support these young women. The student drop-out rate between classes 1-10 has reduced drastically in India, however the drop out rate post class 10 to college is still a major issue. According to a NSSO report, the average annual private fee per student between 2007 and 2016 has increased by six times. That is why, this year I have shifted my focus to providing merit based scholarships for female students with financial needs so that they can complete class 11-12 and graduate.

Vidya Chetana, a program started in 2009 by Youth for Seva (Bangalore), supports underprivileged students by connecting them to donors. Funds raised through this campaign will directly support young women so they can continue their education after class 10.
