What to expect?
In this series, seasoned leaders will share their life experiences with the participants, and will challenge them to think, plan, act, and build the life of a leader.
Bio-design (STEM) “Design to Lead” – A collaborative effort with Professor Anurag Mairal of Stanford, who led the Global Outreach Programs at Byers Center for Bio design at the university. The session will be focused on educating high-potential, socially minded teenagers in a design-thinking based approach to understand and address society’s most significant challenges.
Space Science: Anima Patil-Sabale is an astronaut-in-training at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. She has worked on NASA’s Kepler mission, as well in NASA’s Intelligent Systems Division. She has been pursuing her childhood dream of becoming an astronaut, and her journey is a lesson in leadership within.
Leadership: Participants will learn about fundamental principles of leadership from two seasoned business leaders in Austin, Sumedh & Yogesh. We will discuss how their leadership has been informed by the social “sewa” influences from their families and their gurus.
Sewa for humanity: Participants will also be introduced to exciting opportunities for volunteering throughout the six-week period. Finally, they will be involved in preparing a vision of leadership for themselves, individually or in teams. The 2020 summer LEAD program will help them understand how to plan their own sewa and leadership journeys.
