SEWA PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Sewa has been at the forefront of humanitarian service tackling unprecedented global challenges. Our mission is to serve humanity in distress and aid local communities. Here are some areas of our impact.

ASPIRE Program: The goal of ASPIRE After-School tutoring program is to reduce gaps in education for students in the underprivileged communities. A key focus for this year is expanding our services to three underserved schools and one community center.

Family Services: The Bay Area Family Services team strives to support the families in distress through high-touch engagements. The range of services we provide includes assistance with health crises, economic distress, family health, emotional turmoil, and other unexpected hardships. The team offers case management, educational sessions, and S.E.L.F. (Sleep, Exercise, Lifestyle and Food) programs.

LEAD Program: LEAD is Sewa International's youth leadership program empowering young high school students. The goal of the program is to develop socially conscious leadership skills, promote empathetic volunteerism and make a difference in the community.

Health and Wellness:  Sewa's health and wellness program is focused on eliminating health inequities hidden within our own affluent communities. The target population includes unhoused, seniors, immigrant families, and communities of color. A key goal for this year is to address the significant mental health burden in the Bay Area.

Disaster relief and rehabilitation: Sewa provides preparedness solutions to communities at risk; relief to those displaced by disasters such as wildfires and pandemic; and rehabilitation services.

Food Security: Sewa works with partner organizations to address food insecurity in the unhoused and other underserved communities. The services include packing essential groceries and preparing nutritious sandwiches & burritos.
